FTP Server Setup

Use this page to help you setup your MyPhoto® software with your FTP web server configuration information. The first section provides a general description on how add your FTP information to MyPhoto. The second section provides FTP access information for a list of specific hosted service providers. If you can't find your answer here, you can send us your FTP server setup question electronically using our technical support center.

To set up your FTP Server connection...

Choose a name for the server: Enter a descriptive name for your server, such as My Server.

Provide the address of the FTP server: Enter the FTP server address which was provided to you by the service provider that hosts your web site.

bullet Do not type in ftp:// or http:// before the server address.

Provide the user name you use to log on: Enter the user name (or user ID) you use to connect to your FTP server. The user name is provided to you by your service provider.

FTP port: The default FTP port connection is 21. Since nearly all FTP sites use 21 to establish a connection, you will most likely not need to change this setting. However, if the port number for your site is different, enter the new port number in the FTP port field.

You may choose to save your password: If required, enter the password you use to connect to your FTP server. Your password is provided to you by your service provider or network administrator.

bullet Your saved password is not encrypted. Users with access to your personal computer may be able to view or change your password.

If required, provide the server directory: In most cases you can leave this field blank and accept your server's default directory. If required, enter the destination directory on your server where your photo web site should be published. Some servers require users to upload their files in special directory, such as www or web.

If required, provide the base web address: In most cases you can leave this field blank. If required, enter the base HTTP web address (eg., http://www.yourdomain.com/username/) on the server where your Phlog web albums are located. Some shared servers use a single domain for multiple users by creating sub-directories under domain's root directory.

Click OK when done.
